The Integrated Electronics Manufacturing & Interconnections (IEMI) 2026 conference concluded in Bengaluru on January 29–30, 2026, with key developments in India's electronics sector.
Held at Hotel Taj Yeshwantpur, the two-day event was organized by the Global Electronics Association as its flagship industry platform. It attracted over 1,800 business delegates from India and more than 100 international participants from regions including Southeast Asia, Japan, the Middle East & Africa, Europe, the UK, and the USA.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Global Electronics Association and the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA). The agreement aims to align Joint Services Specifications (JSS) standards with global requirements and support coordination among experts and stakeholders in the defence and aerospace electronics ecosystem, in line with India's Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
The Consumer Electronics & Mobile Manufacturing Survey Report was released during the event. Published by the Global Electronics Association with support from the India Cellular & Electronics Association (ICEA) and other partners, and surveyed by Feedback Advisory, the report examines challenges in improving manufacturing quality for mobile and consumer electronics. It includes evidence-based recommendations to enhance process discipline, manufacturing quality, and alignment with global standards for competitiveness and export readiness.
Trade activities included structured B2B matchmaking and business interactions involving over 100 international delegates and Indian manufacturers. Forums addressed topics in consumer electronics, electric vehicles (EV), defence and aerospace, and supply chain resilience, covering sourcing partnerships, supplier qualification, and market access.
The event facilitated community building among OEMs, EMS providers, PCB manufacturers, wire harness specialists, semiconductor companies, equipment suppliers, standards experts, and policymakers.
The Global Wire Harness Championship took place, with results as follows:
Winner: Mr. Siddaraju from Cyient DLM Limited (India)
Runner-Up: Ms. Sawinee Wongmart from Satys Electric (Thailand)
Consolation Prize: Mr. Amit Kumar from Vista Consoles Electronics Private Limited (India)
The championship focused on workmanship, precision, and process discipline meeting global benchmarks. A Member Awards Program recognized contributions from member companies, volunteers, Certified IPC Trainers (CITs), and partners in standards adoption, workforce development, and ecosystem advancement.
Dr. John W. Mitchell, President and CEO of the Global Electronics Association, stated that IEMI 2026 showed India's electronics manufacturing ecosystem maturing into a globally competitive platform, with emphasis on collaboration, standards alignment, and workforce readiness.
The conference reinforced its position in supporting collaboration, trade development, and quality-focused growth in India's electronics industry.
