Wolfspeed appoints Dr. David Emerson as COO

Wolfspeed appointed Dr. David Emerson as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. In this newly created role, Dr. Emerson will oversee the company’s Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality divisions, focusing on operational efficiency across Wolfspeed’s 200-millimeter facility footprint, reducing customer lead times, and manufacturing silicon carbide solutions.
Dr. Emerson previously served as Executive Vice President of Wolfspeed’s LED Products division when the company operated as Cree, Inc. During his tenure, he managed global operations and navigated challenges related to U.S. government scrutiny on global trade practices and competition. His experience includes transforming complex operations into scalable businesses in emerging technologies.
Wolfspeed CEO Robert Feurle stated that Dr. Emerson’s industry expertise and strategic insight will support the company’s goals of revenue growth, profitability, and completing its transition to 200-millimeter production. Dr. Emerson expressed his commitment to advancing Wolfspeed’s silicon carbide leadership, leveraging the company’s vertically integrated 200-millimeter facilities to deliver high-performance solutions for automotive, industrial, and energy markets.
