“The strong relationship between Wolfspeed and Infineon has paved the way for this expanded and extended agreement,” said Robert Feurle, CEO of Wolfspeed. “As a pioneer in silicon carbide, Wolfspeed’s technology and materials have helped enable the industry’s growth. The addition of 200 mm wafers builds on that foundation as we continue to support Infineon’s long-term silicon carbide needs.”

The global silicon carbide power device market is expected to more than triple from $3.4 billion in 2024 to $11.1 billion by 2031, according to the Yole Power SiC 2026 – Markets and Applications report. Growth is being driven by increasing adoption across industrial and energy markets, including EV charging, renewable energy, energy storage and AI data centers.
