Toshiba announced the expansion of its N300 and N300 Pro Series of internal hard disk drives with the introduction of new 24TB models. These new additions offer 2TB more capacity than the current 22TB versions, making them ideal for enhancing the storage capacity of network attached storage and private cloud storage systems.
Designed for 24/7 operation, the new 24TB models feature industry-standard 3.5-inch form factor, 7200rpm speed, and a 1 GiB buffer. They also include integrated sensors to compensate for rotational vibrations, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.
The N300 Series is designed for small office and home office NAS applications, with a workload rating of up to 180TB/year and support for up to 12 drive bays. The N300 Pro Series, on the other hand, is tailored for more intensive use, boasting a workload rating of up to 550TB/year and support for up to 24 drive bays.
"Toshiba’s 24TB N300 and N300 Pro set new benchmarks in storage capacity and density, while also enhancing power efficiency through our advanced helium-sealed design," said Koji Sakamoto, Senior Director of Storage Products Sales & Marketing Division at Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation. "These models reflect Toshiba’s dedication to innovating HDD design to address the evolving storage demands for performance and small office NAS applications. With files continuing to grow in size, the 24TB capacity will allow NAS users to store and access large volumes of data more efficiently."
