Keysight Technologies, and Point2 Technology announced a strategic collaboration to validate Point2’s e-Tube interconnect technology for next-generation multi-terabit connectivity in artificial intelligence and machine learning data centers.

The collaboration focuses on addressing scale-up connectivity bottlenecks in hyperscaler AI infrastructure. Point2’s e-Tube technology transmits RF data over plastic waveguide and is designed to provide up to 10 times longer reach than traditional copper interconnects at a comparable cost structure. It is also specified as consuming 3 times less power and cost than optics while delivering 1,000 times lower latency compared to optical solutions.

The companies are using Keysight’s high-speed digital test solutions to validate the performance and reliability of e-Tube interconnects. Equipment employed includes the M8050A High-Performance Bit Error Ratio Tester (BERT) and DCA-X Sampling Oscilloscopes. These tools support the generation and analysis of complex 120 GBaud PAM4 signals required for 1.6 Terabit speeds.

Keysight is also enabling early research and development on 3.2T interfaces through its 448 Gbps electrical signal generation capabilities, combined with real-time and sampling scope analysis.

The collaboration aims to ensure that the e-Tube interconnects meet the stringent performance and reliability requirements of hyperscaler AI infrastructure. By offering an energy-efficient and high-density alternative, the technology targets the replacement of copper interconnects and the reduction of interconnect bottlenecks in xPU clusters.

Sean Park, CEO of Point2 Technology, stated that the partnership provides access to Keysight’s engineering tools and support, accelerating e-Tube product development cycles. He noted that validation using Keysight’s test equipment provides confidence as the company engages with leading hyperscaler customers globally.

Dr. Joachim Peerlings, Vice President of Network and Data Center Solutions at Keysight, said that AI scale-up architectures require disruptive innovation in physical interconnects. He added that Keysight serves as a trusted source of measurement validation, enabling partners like Point2 to test technologies quickly and confidently at multi-terabit speeds.
