Bourns, announced it has extended its distributor relationship with Macnica to cover the entire Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, effective immediately. Macnica, previously appointed as Bourns’ distributor for Japan in 2024, now holds full-line distribution responsibility across China, Taiwan, Korea, Southeast Asia, India, and Australia/New Zealand, in addition to its existing Japan territory.
The decision to expand Macnica’s sales territory is based on its extensive regional support capabilities throughout Asia and its demonstrated performance in Japan, particularly in building strong relationships with Japanese Tier 1 customers in the automotive market.
James Harrington, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Bourns, stated that Macnica has proven to be an effective sales partner in Japan through strong demand creation and technical support for Bourns products. He noted that the company’s established customer influence and solid partnership made it a logical choice to represent Bourns across Asia to address growing regional demand.
Horace Lai, CMO (APAC) at Macnica Cytech Limited, said the expanded trust from Bourns allows Macnica to apply its broad customer relationships across Asia to strengthen Bourns’ sales presence. He highlighted that Macnica’s sales and technical support teams possess in-depth knowledge of next-generation and high-growth applications, and the company will provide its full market and technical expertise to support Bourns’ continued expansion in the region.
