Synopsys, Inc. announced that its PCIe 6.x IP solution, including PHY and controller, achieved interoperability with Broadcom’s PEX90000 series switch. The demonstration, conducted at 64 GT/s, involved the Synopsys solution operating as both a root complex and an endpoint. This collaboration aims to support the scalability needs of AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads in data centers.
Synopsys will showcase the interoperability at PCI-SIG DevCon 2025 on June 11 and 12 at booth #13, alongside other PCIe 7.0 and 6.x IP demonstrations in Synopsys and partner booths. The company has completed over 100 PCIe 6.x IP implementations and 3,800 customer tapeouts across seven PCIe generations. Its PCIe solution includes PHYs, controllers, verification IP, and security IP.
Neeraj Paliwal, senior vice president of IP product management at Synopsys, stated that the interoperability with Broadcom’s PCIe 6.x switch supports the performance and scalability requirements of AI and HPC data center applications. Dan Roehrich, vice president of IC Development at Broadcom’s Data Center Solutions Group, noted that the milestone supports the adoption of PCIe 6.x standards as AI servers scale in production.
Synopsys’ complete PCIe IP solutions are available across all PCIe generations on advanced process nodes. More information is available at the Synopsys PCI Express IP Solutions page and the PCI-SIG Developers Conference event page.
