Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fourth edition of SEMICON India 2025, scheduled for September 2–4, 2025, at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention and Expo Centre) in New Delhi. The event, organized by SEMI in collaboration with the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), will bring together 33 nations, over 50 global CXOs, 350 exhibitors, and more than 50 international speakers to highlight India’s expanding semiconductor ecosystem and address industry trends.
SEMICON India 2025 will focus on innovations in areas such as high-volume fabrication units (Fabs), 3D heterogeneous packaging, compound semiconductors including silicon carbide (SiC), and outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSATs). The event will feature six country roundtables, four country pavilions, participation from nine Indian states, and an expected 15,000 visitors. Key activities include high-profile keynotes, panel discussions, fireside chats, paper presentations, and a Workforce Development Pavilion to promote microelectronics career opportunities.
The Government of India has approved 10 semiconductor projects under the Semicon India Programme, aimed at strengthening the country’s position in the global semiconductor value chain. Additionally, support for research, innovation, and design is being provided to 280 academic institutes and 72 startups, with 23 startups approved under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme. These initiatives enable the development of semiconductors for applications such as CCTV, navigation systems, motor controllers, communication chips, and microprocessor units, aligning with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The event will showcase advancements in smart manufacturing, AI, supply chain management, sustainability, workforce development, and startup ecosystems. Industry leaders from companies including Applied Materials, ASML, IBM, Infineon, KLA, Lam Research, MERCK, Micron, PSMC, Rapidus, Sandisk, Siemens, SK Hynix, TATA Electronics, and Tokyo Electron will participate.
Shri S Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, emphasized that the exhibition will serve as South Asia’s largest platform for showcasing advancements in the semiconductor and electronics industries. Ajit Manocha, President and CEO of SEMI, highlighted the event’s role in advancing India’s semiconductor ecosystem and global supply chain resiliency. Shri Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, MeitY, and CEO, ISM, noted the event’s significance in fostering collaboration to address future challenges. Ashok Chandak, President, SEMI India and IESA, stated that SEMICON India 2025 will act as a catalyst for industry growth through collaboration and ecosystem development.
