Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh with Rs 210.56 Crore Central Assistance

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has approved the establishment of an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh, reported multiple media sources. The project has an estimated total cost of Rs 432.08 crore, of which the Centre will provide financial assistance of Rs 210.56 crore (approximately Rs 2.11 billion).

The cluster will be developed by the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) across 306.56 acres at Patewa, including 150.56 acres reserved for industrial plots. It will provide ready-built and ready-to-use factory spaces, plug-and-play utilities, reliable power and water supply, warehouses, Common Facility Centres and other industrial infrastructure to allow companies to begin operations with minimal lead time.

The project is expected to attract more than Rs 3,000 crore (Rs 30 billion) in investments and generate nearly 9,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. Four anchor companies from the semiconductor, electric vehicle and smart electronics sectors have expressed interest in setting up operations at the cluster, with an initial combined investment commitment of approximately Rs 365 crore.
