L&T Technology Services has launched a new Engineering Design Center in Plano, Texas. The ITAR-compliant facility is designed to develop and test defense-related products and systems, focusing on AI, digital engineering, cybersecurity, and manufacturing solutions. It will initially house 100 engineers and aims to create over 350 high-skilled jobs in mobility and tech sectors.
The center was inaugurated by Plano Mayor John B. Muns, Caterpillar Vice President Tim Graham, Consul General of India in Houston Manjunath Chenneerappa, LTTS President & Executive Director (Mobility & Tech) Alind Saxena, and Chief Delivery Officer (Americas) & Head of Corporate Strategy Bhanu Gopalam. During the event, LTTS showcased technologies including a Factory of the Future for Industry 4.0, TrackEI™ for real-time railway track inspection, the iDriVe framework for AD/ADAS and battery management, the AI-driven Fusion platform for smart cities, and Software Defined Imaging using NVIDIA’s Jetson™ platform for enhanced endoscopic procedures.
U.S. Senator Ted Cruz noted that the center will employ up to 400 engineers, reinforcing Texas as a hub for innovation. Mayor Muns highlighted the facility’s role in creating over 350 engineering jobs and advancing smart manufacturing. Congressman Pat Fallon emphasized the center’s contribution to Texas’ leadership in high-tech innovation and digital transformation. Alind Saxena stated that the Plano facility strengthens LTTS’ global delivery model by fostering collaboration with local partners and clients.
