Edwards Vacuum has opened its Genesee manufacturing facility in Western New York to produce dry vacuum pumps for semiconductor manufacturing.
The facility expands Edwards' North American production capabilities to serve demand from investments in semiconductor manufacturing across the United States. It is powered by renewable hydroelectric energy generated near Niagara Falls and is intended to support customers in North America and around the world.

The site will create manufacturing, engineering, and technical career opportunities in Western New York. Edwards is part of Atlas Copco Group, which described the opening as an investment in US manufacturing and semiconductor supply chain infrastructure.
Martin Tollner, president of Atlas Copco Group’s Semiconductor division, said the facility supports domestic manufacturing and a more resilient semiconductor supply chain as chip manufacturers invest in next-generation technologies and expanded US production.
Edwards celebrated the facility’s opening on October 29, 2026. The company said the project was developed with industry, government, economic development organizations, educational institutions, and community stakeholders.
