Micro-Precision Technologies (MPT), a U.S. manufacturer of high-reliability microelectronics for defense and aerospace applications, has appointed Kevin Kendrick as vice president of sales. Kendrick will report to CEO Martin Stensgaard and lead MPT's sales growth strategy, with a focus on expanding the company's hybrid microelectronics business and supporting customers facing increasingly complex challenges around component obsolescence, product lifecycle management, and modernization.
Martin Stensgaard said Kendrick brings a rare combination of experience spanning semiconductors, advanced packaging, manufacturing, and commercial business development. He said Kendrick understands both the technical realities of sustaining legacy defense electronics and the opportunity created as the industry moves toward more modular, open-system architectures, calling that perspective a strong fit for where MPT is headed.
Kendrick joins MPT with broad experience across semiconductor packaging, microelectronics manufacturing, materials, and business development. His career has included leadership and technical roles at Teledyne, Micross Components, Engent, H.B. Fuller, and AdTech, along with ownership of two companies. He has also worked on engineering advanced semiconductor packaging solutions and has been active in the electronics industry through organizations including IMAPS and SMTA. He previously served as president of the Central Texas Electronics Association and participated in SMTA's Chapter Leadership Committee.
Kendrick described MPT as "a gem," saying the company has the technical depth, manufacturing flexibility, and customer focus to solve problems that many larger organizations simply aren't structured to handle. He said the opportunity ahead is to help defense and aerospace customers keep critical legacy systems supportable, while also designing modernization paths that reduce the risk of future obsolescence.
That approach sits at the center of MPT's market strategy. The company supports customers that need hermetically sealed packages, high-reliability microelectronics, including thick-film and PCB-based hybrid components, and related packaging solutions. As defense programs contend with disappearing semiconductor sources and long platform lifecycles, MPT works to recreate obsolete functionality, redesign components at the module level, and support migration toward Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) architectures, a framework the defense industry uses to build systems from interchangeable, standardized components.
Kendrick said his objective is straightforward: build systems today so they can be rebuilt tomorrow without a military program missing a beat.
MPT also recently achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 following an independent assessment by a certified third-party assessment organization (C3PAO), earning a perfect score of 110 out of 110. The certification strengthens the company's position as a trusted manufacturing partner for defense programs that require both technical capability and disciplined protection of controlled unclassified information.
Kendrick will initially focus on expanding strategic customer relationships, strengthening MPT's network of manufacturers' representatives, improving the company's commercial systems and CRM infrastructure, and building a targeted growth strategy centered on high-value defense, aerospace, and space opportunities.
