Celera Semiconductor, an analog IC supplier that uses AI to reduce the cost and time needed to develop and supply analog integrated circuits, has closed $30 million in Series B financing. The round was fully funded by Maverick Silicon, Celera's largest existing investor.
Patrick Brockett, CEO of Celera Semiconductor, said the company has made significant progress over the past two years, pointing to its recent acquisition of Silicon Gate, a product development and design automation team based in Portugal that the company describes as world-class, and noted that Celera is rapidly expanding that team.
Dr. Helen Song, CTO of Celera Semiconductor, said the company has also strengthened its design and AI expertise in California, broadening the range of power management applications it can address. She said the new funding will help accelerate Celera's design automation roadmap.
Kenneth Safar, managing director at Maverick Silicon, said Celera is creating a new, highly efficient way to source custom analog chip designs, noting that every electronic system relies on critical analog components, and that sourcing those products has historically created scheduling challenges for many customers. He said Celera is providing a way to remove those barriers, and that Maverick Silicon expects the impact to be substantial.
