SK hynix announced the successful completion of customer validation for its 96GB Compute eXpress Link 2.0-based DDR5 DRAM solution. This milestone marks a significant advancement in high-performance computing, offering enhanced capacity and bandwidth for server systems.

The 96GB CXL-DDR5 module, validated by customers, boasts a 50% increase in capacity and a 30% improvement in bandwidth compared to previous DDR5 modules. This translates to a data processing speed of 36GB/s, significantly reducing the total cost of ownership for data center operations.

Following this achievement, SK hynix is progressing with the validation of its 128GB CXL-DDR5 module, equipped with 32Gb DDR5 DRAM using the advanced 1bnm process technology. This product promises superior performance per watt, further enhancing the scalability and efficiency of memory systems.

In addition to hardware advancements, SK hynix has developed the Heterogeneous Memory Software Development Kit, optimized for CMM-DDR5. Integrated with Linux, this software enhances the performance of CXL-applied systems by efficiently managing memory bandwidth and data allocation.

“We are developing various solution products to fulfill Optimal Innovation in order to overcome the limitation of high cost and scalability of the existing system,” said Uksong Kang, Head of Next Gen PP&E. “We will provide optimized value to customers by dramatically improving the scalability and the flexibility of memory while meeting customers’ different needs.”
