Keysight Technologies, Inc. has introduced the 20 GHz PSG XG7-class analog signal generator, a dual-channel instrument for aerospace and defense, advanced wireless, and high-speed digital applications. The instrument combines two fully independent channels in a two-rack-unit (2U) chassis and provides calibrated output power up to +22 dBm.

In demanding test environments, noise from the signal source can mask the device behavior engineers need to measure. Teams also need to increase test capacity while managing limited rack space and avoiding costly changes to established test systems. The PSG addresses these requirements with low phase noise, low amplitude modulation noise, a low broadband noise floor, calibrated output power, and two independent channels.

Keysight Launches 20 GHz Dual-Channel PSG XG7-Class Signal Generator for Aerospace, Wireless and High-Speed Digital Testing

The PSG provides phase noise of -135 dBc/Hz and amplitude modulation noise of -150 dBc/Hz, measured at 10 GHz with a 10 kHz offset, together with a broadband noise floor of -166 dBc/Hz at 10 GHz. Its hybrid architecture uses software mode switching to optimize performance across different applications, while calibrated output power up to +22 dBm helps compensate for losses in cables and test fixtures.
