ROHM has developed a configurable power supply solution combining the PMIC BD968xx-C Series with the DrMOS BD96340MFF-C for automotive SoCs used in ADAS, Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS), and sensing cameras.
Increasing performance demands on automotive SoCs, driven by ADAS evolution, enhanced in-vehicle camera functionality, and ECU integration, have led to a shift toward domain architectures centered on domain controllers. These SoCs require low-voltage, high-current power supplies, advanced power sequencing control, and high reliability.
Conventional power supply architectures often need significant customization for different SoC manufacturers and generations, resulting in redesigns during model changes. ROHM’s solution uses a configurable design concept to enable flexible adaptation to a wide range of SoC power requirements.

The solution supports scalable power supply designs for low-end to high-end SoCs through flexible combinations of main configurable PMICs, sub PMICs, and DrMOS devices based on application and performance needs. This approach reduces development effort during platform expansion and supports power efficiency and design reuse.
All PMICs operate with a 2.7 V to 5.5 V input voltage range. The BD96803Qxx-C and BD96811Fxx-C are optimized for standalone use with low-end SoCs. The BD96805Qxx-C and BD96806Qxx-C, when paired with the DrMOS BD96340MFF-C, support low-voltage, high-current requirements of high-performance SoCs.
The PMICs are available in wettable flank QFN packages, and the DrMOS uses a flip-chip QFN package. All devices are AEC-Q100 qualified for in-vehicle applications.
Mass production of these products has already started.
