Wind River has been selected by Superheat to power its next-generation industrial controllers using eLxr Pro. The controllers are deployed in oil, gas, energy, shipyard, aerospace, and defense applications. Superheat will use eLxr Pro for its proprietary wireless-remote heat treatment control systems, which operate in demanding field environments and require reliable performance over extended service lifecycles.
eLxr Pro is built on the open-source Debian-based eLxr community distribution and adds commercial-grade support, maintenance, and hardening for production environments. It enables secure deployment, maintenance, and system updates across extended operational lifecycles while supporting cloud-to-edge deployments for industrial workloads and regulated industries.
The platform provides comprehensive Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) coverage for vulnerability management across the device lifecycle. It also ensures cryptographic implementations meet rigorous aerospace and defense standards.
Sandeep Modhvadia, Chief Product Officer at Wind River, stated that the selection supports Superheat’s heat treatment solutions with focus on safety, security, and quality.
Ryan Barnes, Director of IT at Superheat, noted that eLxr Pro provides the hardened Linux foundation required to meet rising security, compliance, and system integrity requirements in industrial, aerospace, and defense markets.
