The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported that global semiconductor sales totaled $791.7 billion in 2025, reflecting a 25.6% increase from the $630.5 billion recorded in 2024.
Fourth-quarter sales in 2025 reached $236.6 billion, up 37.1% compared to the fourth quarter of 2024 and 13.6% higher than the third quarter of 2025. December 2025 sales stood at $78.9 billion, marking a 2.7% rise from November 2025. Monthly sales figures are compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization as a three-month moving average.
SIA represents 99% of the U.S. semiconductor industry by revenue and nearly two-thirds of non-U.S. chip companies.
John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO, stated that 2025 marked the highest annual sales ever recorded for the global semiconductor industry, approaching $800 billion, and that worldwide sales are projected to reach approximately $1 trillion in 2026.
He noted that semiconductors serve as the foundation for nearly all modern technology, with demand expected to remain strong due to emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, 6G, and autonomous driving.
Regional sales performance for the full year 2025 showed increases in:
Asia Pacific/All Others: +45.0%
Americas: +30.5%
China: +17.3%
Europe: +6.3%
Sales declined in Japan by 4.7%.
Month-to-month sales changes in December 2025 were:
Americas: +3.9%
China: +3.8%
Asia Pacific/All Others: +2.5%
Europe: -2.2%
Japan: -2.5%
Among product categories in 2025, logic products recorded the largest growth, increasing 39.9% to $301.9 billion, making logic the highest-selling category. Memory products ranked second in total sales, with a 34.8% increase to $223.1 billion.
Neuffer emphasized the importance of policies that strengthen the domestic semiconductor ecosystem, stating that a globally competitive U.S. industry would support economic growth, national security, and technological leadership.
