On November 17, 2025, the ARKA-GKT1 was officially launched in New Delhi by Ashwini Vaishnaw, India's Union Minister of Electronics & IT, Railways, and Communications. The launch was described as marking a milestone in India's efforts toward semiconductor self-reliance.
The ARKA-GKT1 is currently progressing through full qualification and customer testing phases. The company states it remains on track for ramp-up to production volumes later in 2026.
The chip is based on Azimuth AI's Software-Defined Silicon architecture, which the company claims provides high integration, flexibility, and energy efficiency for edge-intelligent systems in smart infrastructure. It is reported to deliver up to 10× performance improvement over existing general-purpose integrated chips, along with enhanced security and reliability.
