Azimuth AI, a semiconductor company with offices in Sacramento and Hyderabad, India, announced on January 5, 2026, the closure of a new funding round. The round was led by Jetha Global and included participation from existing investors Moneta Ventures and AUM Ventures, along with additional new investors. The amount of the funding was not disclosed.

Azimuth AI develops custom edge-AI System-on-Chips (SoCs) targeted at smart utilities, energy, and industrial infrastructure applications.

In collaboration with Cyient Limited, the company has launched India's first-generation IP-powered silicon chip, named ARKA-GKT1. This chip focuses on smart utilities.

On November 17, 2025, the ARKA-GKT1 was officially launched in New Delhi by Ashwini Vaishnaw, India's Union Minister of Electronics & IT, Railways, and Communications. The launch was described as marking a milestone in India's efforts toward semiconductor self-reliance.

The ARKA-GKT1 is currently progressing through full qualification and customer testing phases. The company states it remains on track for ramp-up to production volumes later in 2026.

The chip is based on Azimuth AI's Software-Defined Silicon architecture, which the company claims provides high integration, flexibility, and energy efficiency for edge-intelligent systems in smart infrastructure. It is reported to deliver up to 10× performance improvement over existing general-purpose integrated chips, along with enhanced security and reliability.

Praveen Yasarapu, Founder and CEO of Azimuth AI, stated that the company is entering a phase focused on production deployments and scale in 2026, with the ARKA-GKT1 progress enabling expansion from pilots to large-scale adoption in smart utilities and industrial infrastructure.

Karan Danthi, Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Jetha Global, noted that Azimuth AI stands out due to its team's experience, including leadership from Intel and a track record of more than 30 successful SoC tape-outs and high-volume production ramps.
