DENSO CORPORATION signed a joint development agreement with MediaTek Inc to develop next-generation automotive system-on-chips (SoCs).
Automotive systems are becoming increasingly intelligent, advancing autonomous driving and vehicle connectivity. Automotive SoCs serve as high-performance computing platforms for complex processing tasks.
DENSO draws on expertise in automotive semiconductors, electronics components, and automotive systems to develop SoCs optimized for real-time responsiveness, functional safety, and power efficiency.
Under the agreement, DENSO will define system requirements for automotive SoCs, accounting for system behavior in various driving scenarios, and design the fundamental architecture. MediaTek will perform detailed design and verification using its SoC development capabilities, based on DENSO's requirements and architecture.
The collaboration combines DENSO's system-level design with MediaTek's semiconductor design to produce a custom SoC aligned with DENSO's requirements. The SoC is intended for integrated mobility computers that control in-vehicle systems.
DENSO plans to advance automotive semiconductor technologies through various solutions.
