Murata Manufacturing has announced a collaboration with Synopsys, Inc. The partnership allows users of Synopsys simulation tools to navigate directly from the tools to Murata’s website to access and download the latest simulation models.
The collaboration includes Synopsys’ 3D electromagnetic field analysis tool Ansys HFSS and thermal analysis tool Ansys Icepak. Murata is the first company to provide passive component simulation models via Ansys Icepak.
The models address increasing complexity in electronic circuit design driven by demand for high-speed, high-capacity communications. They support analysis of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and component heat generation. Murata develops the models using its vertically integrated process from raw materials to final products and proprietary datasets for alignment with real-world performance.
The simulation models are compatible with Ansys 2026 R1. Ansys HFSS covers electromagnetic field analysis for Murata’s RF inductors and multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs). Ansys Icepak covers thermal analysis for Murata’s power inductors.
Murata plans to expand its model lineup through continued collaboration with Synopsys. The following data is available for download from Murata’s website: electromagnetic field analysis data for Ansys HFSS (RF inductors and MLCCs) and thermal analysis data for Ansys Icepak (power inductors).
