Panasonic Automotive Systems announced that its in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system has been adopted in Toyota Motor Corporation’s 2026 RAV4 vehicle. The IVI system integrates with Arene, Toyota’s software platform developed by Woven by Toyota, through a large-scale software framework established during product development. Panasonic continues collaboration with Toyota to support software platform development for software-defined vehicle (SDV) adoption across Toyota’s vehicle lineup.

The IVI platform includes the following features:
1. Newly developed IVI software that integrates with the Arene platform, first implemented in the RAV4, to enable over-the-air (OTA) updates for both multimedia and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) functions, supporting SDV requirements.
2. User experience and ADAS integration that include smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with wireless support, digital radio (HD Radio, SXM, DAB), Bluetooth audio, user authentication, and voice UI through smartphone and cloud integration. The system provides a customizable home screen for personalization, connected features for temperature control and cloud-based navigation, enhanced voice recognition, and an ADAS-integrated camera recording function for safety.
3. Integrated design with large high-definition displays available in 12.9-inch and 10.5-inch sizes, combining navigation and temperature controls into a single interface. The displays use LCD bonding technology and a space-saving design for aesthetics, lightweight construction, and power efficiency.
The 2026 Toyota RAV4 is scheduled to arrive at dealerships in North America starting in February 2026, with availability expanding to other regions thereafter. The vehicle will eventually be offered in more than 170 countries.
