The agreement aims to enhance the production of wireless connectivity technologies and power management solutions, which are critical components for next-generation AI-enabled devices. Tim Breen, CEO of GlobalFoundries, stated that the partnership leverages the company’s technology capabilities and secure, onshore manufacturing to support Apple’s smart mobile technologies. The collaboration also aims to build a resilient U.S. supply chain.

Sabih Khan, Apple’s chief operating officer, noted that the partnership aligns with Apple’s American Manufacturing Program, part of a $600 billion commitment to the U.S. over the next four years, aimed at creating jobs and expanding domestic manufacturing.
