Rita Gupta, Fellow in AMD’s Server System Architecture team, has been selected as the 2025 SuperWomen of FMS Award recipient by the Future of Memory and Storage (FMS), sponsored by Hammerspace and Pure Storage. The award recognizes her contributions to memory and storage technologies.
With over 20 years of engineering experience, Gupta has worked on server architectures, starting with the first PCIe 1.0 analyzer and now serving as AMD’s CXL End-to-End Architect. She leads the development of CXL memory system architectures for AMD’s EPYC platforms, including Genoa, Turin, and Venice, utilizing her expertise in memory technology and CPU architecture.
As co-chair of the CXL Consortium Memory Systems Workgroup, Gupta has contributed to industry standards, authoring the JEDEC CMC01 and JESD325 specifications and supporting CXL 2.0 and 3.0 development. Her efforts involve collaboration with vendors to advance the CXL ecosystem. Gupta is also a speaker at events such as Supercomputing, SNIA, and CXL DevCon, and has authored patents and white papers. Her work has enabled AMD to deliver CXL functionality focused on performance, interoperability, and vendor enablement.
Molly Presley, SuperWomen of FMS Awards Committee Chair, noted Gupta’s technical expertise, leadership, and commitment to mentorship and community. Gupta supports diversity through her involvement with the GSA Women’s Leadership Initiative, mentoring female engineers in the semiconductor industry.
The award will be presented on August 6, 2025, at 11:30 AM during the FMS main stage presentations in the Mission City Ballroom, Santa Clara Convention Center.
