The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported global semiconductor sales of $59.0 billion for May Y2025, reflecting a 19.8% increase from $49.2 billion in May 2024 and a 3.5% rise from $57.0 billion in April 2025. The data, compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization, represents a three-month moving average. SIA accounts for 99% of U.S. semiconductor industry revenue and nearly two-thirds of non-U.S. chip firms.
In May, year-to-year sales increased across all regions: the Americas (45.2%), Asia Pacific/All Other (30.5%), China (20.5%), Japan (4.5%), and Europe (4.1%). Month-to-month sales grew in Asia Pacific/All Other (6.0%), China (5.4%), Europe (4.0%), the Americas (0.5%), and Japan (0.2%).

For April 2025, SIA reported global semiconductor sales of $57.0 billion, a 2.5% increase from $55.6 billion in March 2025 and a 22.7% rise from $46.4 billion in April 2024. Year-to-year sales in April increased in the Americas (44.4%), Asia Pacific/All Other (23.1%), China (14.4%), Japan (4.3%), and Europe (0.1%). Month-to-month sales rose in China (5.5%), Asia Pacific/All Other (5.3%), and Europe (0.5%), but declined in Japan (-0.6%) and the Americas (-1.1%).

SIA also endorsed the WSTS Spring 2025 forecast, projecting global semiconductor sales to grow by 11.2% to $700.9 billion in 2025, followed by an increase to $760.7 billion in 2026. The forecast is based on input from global semiconductor companies, reflecting trends in AI, cloud infrastructure, and advanced consumer electronics demand.
