According to Omdia’s Industrial and Public Display & OEM Intelligence Service, global industrial display panel shipments totaled 281.1 million units in 2024 and are forecasted to increase by 3.4% year-on-year to 290.6 million units in 2025. The smart home and office segment, which constitutes 64% of total shipments in 2024, is the primary driver of this growth. The launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, featuring a 7.9-inch LTPS gaming console display, has significantly contributed to this trend. Omdia estimates that gaming console display shipments will exceed 15 million units in 2025, marking a 200% year-on-year increase.

TzuYu Huang, Principal Analyst at Omdia, noted that the industrial display market has historically maintained stable demand due to its niche nature. However, tariff uncertainties in recent years have led TV, IT, and some industrial display supply chain participants to shift demand to the first half of 2025. This shift may result in softer or uncertain demand in the third quarter, but the Nintendo Switch 2’s launch earlier in 2024 is supporting sustained momentum in the smart home and office sector throughout 2025.
