Nordic Semiconductor has acquired the intellectual property and core technology assets of Neuton.AI, a developer of fully automated TinyML solutions for edge devices. The acquisition integrates Neuton.AI’s neural network framework with Nordic’s nRF54 Series ultra-low-power wireless System-on-Chips (SoCs) to support machine learning (ML) on resource-constrained devices.
Neuton.AI’s platform generates ML models typically under 5 KB, supporting deployment on 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers without requiring manual tuning or data science expertise. The technology targets edge applications in consumer electronics, healthcare, and industrial sectors, focusing on predictive maintenance, smart health monitoring, process automation, gesture recognition, consumer wearables, and IoT devices.
The acquisition includes Neuton.AI’s intellectual property and a team of 13 engineers and data scientists. The Neuton.AI brand and platform will continue operations during the initial integration phase. The technology will support Nordic’s nRF54 Series and its broader portfolio of wireless connectivity SoCs. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
