Valeo announced its participation in Eurobike 2025, held in Frankfurt from June 25 to 29, where it will present its Valeo Cyclee system for electric bikes and its remanufacturing services for e-bike motors and batteries.
The Valeo Cyclee system includes a 48V mid-drive unit with an electric motor and a 7-speed automatic gearbox, developed with Effigear, delivering 130 Nm of torque. The system operates quietly due to its gear geometry and features gear changes in less than 100 ms, adapting to the rider’s style. It is powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery with capacities from 487 Wh to 1,254 Wh, available in integrated, external, or rack-mounted formats. The system supports walk assist, regenerative braking, a boost mode, and a mechanical anti-theft device, eliminating the need for a derailleur.
The human-machine interface (HMI) includes a 2-inch removable color touchscreen, a handlebar-mounted remote control, and a smart docking station with up to 30% recycled plastic. It offers smartphone-based unlocking and compatibility with major mounting standards.
Valeo partnered with Velco to provide the Velco Suite, comprising three applications: Assembly Assist for manufacturers to configure drive units, batteries, and HMIs; Diagnostic Service for maintenance and updates; and Rider, a mobile app for ride data and maintenance alerts.
The Valeo Cyclee system supports urban, trekking, cargo, gravel, and mountain bikes, handling up to 315 kg on slopes exceeding 14% or in reverse. Brands using the system include Ultima, Ateliers HeritageBike, Radior, FUELL, Galian Cycles, OucaBikes, and Cavalerie.
Valeo Service launched an e-bike motor remanufacturing service in 2024 with Smovengo, supporting over 8,000 Vélib bikes in Paris. The Circular Electronics Laboratory in Nevers repairs over 500 batteries monthly, achieving a material recovery rate above 90%.
At Eurobike 2025, Valeo will exhibit at stand H32 in Hall 8.0, showcasing the Valeo Cyclee ecosystem, Velco Suite, city and cargo bikes from Ateliers HeritageBike, Galian Cycles, and OucaBikes, and its remanufacturing activities.
