Local enterprises grooving into the semiconductor eco in Gujarat

Gujarat is buzzing with Billions of US$ investments from leaders such as Tata Electronics, Micron, Simmtech, Kaynes, CG Power and more, where GoI and state Goverment investing up to 70% in most of these big ventures. Arrow also operates big design center in Gujarat after it acquired a Gujarat based semiconductor design services company called eInfochips in 2018. Along with MNCs, you can also find some local companies venturing into semiconductor market.  

Suchi Semicon  is a new Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) service provider established in Gujarat in 2023. In the month of Dec 2024, Suchi opened a new OSAT facility in Surat with an investment of US$100 Million with a capacity to package 3 million semiconductor per day. Suchi has already shipped its first batch of packaged semiconductor chip to its US customer for validation. Suchi Semicon is headed by Shetal Mehta and Ashok Mehta, whose parent company Suchi Industries runs a successful textile business.

Gujarat based Monk9 Tech offering customized chip fabrication by having 130 nm CMOS lab for very small volumes. Monk9 is also researching on advanced material processing.  Monk9 Tech is collaborating with Suchi Semicon to package Monk9 made wafers. Gujarat is fast turning into semiconductor manufacturing state of India. Most of the semiconductor fab supply chain companies worldover are setting up their support offices in Gujarat.
