Amber Semiconductor Inc. has formed a six-member advisory board to support the commercialization of its PowerTile power-delivery portfolio for AI data centers.
The appointees are Robert Bruggeworth, president and CEO of Qorvo and former president of RF Micro Devices (RFMD); Mike Noonen, former CEO of Swave Photonics and MixComm, former EVP of Global Foundries and NXP, and SVP of National Semiconductor; David Bell, CEO of Actev Motors and former CEO of Intersil and president of Linear Tech; George Holmes, chairman and CEO of Stormentum and former CEO of Ubilite and Resonant; Dan Christman, chief corporate development officer at SambaNova and former EVP/GM at Marvell, CMO at ESS and VP at Maxim; and Duane Nelles, former SVP of corporate development and strategy at Qualcomm.

AmberSemi’s PowerTile Vertical Power Delivery (VPD) system converts power directly beneath next-generation AI accelerators and high-performance computing processors. Its first product, the AMB7100, delivers 1,000 A in a 20 x 24 x 1.68 mm package; multiple devices can be paralleled to deliver more than 10,000 A.
The company says rising power consumption and current demand from AI processors are challenging traditional power-delivery solutions. It says Direct-to-Core VPD brings conversion beneath the processor to reduce distribution losses and support power efficiency, processor capability and data center scalability.
Thar Casey, CEO of AmberSemi, said: “Our new advisors bring deep expertise across a range of disciplines, and their perspective will be invaluable as we scale.” More information about AmberSemi and PowerTile is available at www.ambersi.com.
