TrendForce forecasts global AR glasses shipments will reach 1.31 million units in 2026, with Meta and Chinese brands driving growth in the consumer market. Shipments are projected to increase from 620,000 units in 2025, a 111.1% year-over-year rise.
TrendForce’s latest report, “2026 Near-Eye Display Market Trends and Technology Analysis,” says AR glasses are moving from proof-of-concept products toward the consumer market. Stronger-than-expected growth for Meta’s Ray-Ban Display glasses has drawn consumer attention, prompting brands and supply chain players to accelerate product development.

Meta is expected to account for approximately 20% of global shipments in 2026. XREAL, Even Realities, Rokid, and RayNeo are projected to account for a combined 53.2%. XREAL’s Aura glasses, developed with Google, are scheduled to launch by the end of 2026.
TrendForce expects OLEDoS and LEDoS to account for approximately 80% of the market combined. OLEDoS is projected to maintain a slight lead because of its widespread adoption in entertainment-oriented AR glasses, while developers are revisiting monochrome green configurations for the information-display segment. LEDoS is a key display technology for information-display AR glasses, but full-color displays are expected to remain a significant technical challenge in the near term. Supply chain players are developing dual-color red-and-green solutions to improve visual differentiation and information readability.
TrendForce says LEDoS and OLEDoS improvements and wider applications, along with growing LCoS adoption through Meta’s products, will give brands a wider range of display technology options and greater flexibility in managing costs. Global AR glasses shipments are projected to grow by nearly 80% in 2027.
