CesiumAstro Acquires Jariet Technologies to Build Vertically Integrated Space Communications Capabilities

CesiumAstro, a company focused on advanced space communications and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems, has acquired Jariet Technologies, a company specializing in mmWave RF System-on-Chip (RF-SoC) semiconductors used in satellite communications (SATCOM), electronic warfare, and radar systems.
 
The acquisition advances CesiumAstro's broader strategy of building what it describes as the industry's most vertically integrated satellite communications company. By bringing semiconductor design in-house, CesiumAstro gains more control over performance across the full RF signal chain, the sequence of components that process radio frequency signals, and can more tightly integrate its chips, hardware, software, and mission systems together. The company frames this as a way to speed up innovation while reducing size, weight, power consumption, cost, and overall system complexity across both space-based and ground-based applications.
 
Shey Sabripour, founder and CEO of CesiumAstro, said the acquisition brings a foundational semiconductor capability into the company, and that combined with CesiumAstro's existing expertise in software-defined communications, active phased arrays (antenna systems that electronically steer signals without physically moving), satellite payloads, and satellite platforms, Jariet strengthens the company's ability to deliver differentiated, high-performance systems at scale.
 
Jariet Technologies specializes in direct RF signal-processing chips and high-speed data converter technology, which support flexible, software-defined systems capable of operating across multiple frequency bands and functions. The company has built a robust U.S.-based semiconductor supply chain and pioneered high-volume, high-performance production of RF chiplets, smaller specialized chips combined into larger systems, for heterogeneous integration, meaning combining chips built with different manufacturing processes into a single package. Jariet's engineering team, semiconductor intellectual property, and manufacturing expertise are expected to strengthen CesiumAstro's technology lineup and support future satellite payloads, active phased-array ground terminals, gateways, airborne systems, and advanced communications networks.
 
Charles Harper, CEO of Jariet Technologies, said combining Jariet's semiconductor work in high-speed data converter transceivers and digital beamforming technology, which shapes and directs radio signals electronically, with CesiumAstro's expertise in defense and satellite systems, will speed up delivery of next-generation phased-array satellite solutions. He said that as a wholly owned subsidiary, Jariet's existing customers can expect full continuity, along with more optimized designs, an expanded semiconductor R&D pipeline, and faster time to market, all built on the technology foundation those customers already rely on.
 
Together, the two companies plan to bring a range of new application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), chips custom-designed for particular tasks, to market, combining Jariet's semiconductor and RF expertise with CesiumAstro's experience in software-defined communications, phased arrays, payloads, and space systems. The combined technology roadmap is intended to speed up delivery of next-generation semiconductor and system-level capabilities for commercial, government, and defense customers.
 
This acquisition follows CesiumAstro's earlier purchase of Vidrovr, an AI company focused on real-time multimodal signal analysis, which further expanded the company's ability to integrate AI into its space communications and ISR systems. With Jariet now added, CesiumAstro is extending that same strategy further down the technology stack, from RF semiconductors and high-speed signal conversion up through communications payloads, satellites, onboard processing, and intelligent mission systems. Together, these acquisitions are meant to strengthen CesiumAstro's ability to deliver resilient, software-defined communications and ISR systems at scale.
