The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported that global semiconductor sales reached $403.3 billion in the second quarter of 2026, a 35.1% increase compared to the first quarter of the year. Sales for the month of June 2026 alone came in at $134.5 billion, up 123.6% compared to June 2025 and 9.7% higher than May 2026. These monthly figures are compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization and reflect a three-month moving average.

John Neuffer, SIA's president and CEO, said global chip sales are expected to exceed $1.5 trillion for all of 2026, with second-quarter sales substantially outpacing the first quarter. He said strong sales across the Americas, the Asia Pacific region, and China continue to drive overall market growth, underscoring both the strength of global chip demand and the central role semiconductors play in powering the next wave of technology innovation and economic competitiveness.

Regionally, year-over-year sales in June rose across all major markets: the Americas were up 160.9%, Asia Pacific/All Other markets rose 124.4%, China increased 112.8%, Europe grew 75.2%, and Japan rose 39%. On a month-to-month basis, June sales also grew across every region, with China up 10.4%, Asia Pacific/All Other up 9.8%, the Americas up 9.6%, Japan up 8.6%, and Europe up 7.7%.
