Bourns has introduced the CDSOD323-TxxC-Q Series, an automotive-grade transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode series for compact ESD protection. The AEC-Q101-compliant bidirectional TVS diodes protect single data lines or I/O ports from ESD and surge events. They combine bidirectional protection with low typical capacitance of approximately 3 pF in a compact JEDEC SOD-323 package, supporting high-speed signal integrity in space-constrained designs.

The series provides up to 30 kV ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2. It is designed as an MLV replacement option for larger 0805 multilayer varistor devices and supports standard pick-and-place assembly.
“Designers working on compact automotive and portable electronics platforms need circuit protection that meets qualification requirements without compromising signal integrity or board space,” said Rollin Roos, Product Line Manager, Circuit Protection Products, Bourns. “The CDSOD323-TxxC-Q Series combines bidirectional transient protection, low typical capacitance, and AEC-Q101 qualification in a JEDEC SOD-323 package to support space-constrained signal-line designs.”
Target applications include cellular phones, PDAs and notebooks, digital cameras, MP3 players and GPS, USB interfaces, and automotive systems.
The CDSOD323-TxxC-Q Series is available now. Samples can be requested through Bourns Customer Service.
