Emerson announced the release of PEX liners for its Rosemount 8750W Magnetic Flow Meter, Rosemount 8705 Flanged Magnetic Flow Meter, and Rosemount MS Magnetic Flow Meter sensors. The PEX liners are designed for water/wastewater and other slurry or abrasive applications. They provide durable, abrasion-resistant performance and are formulated without per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
The new liners address limitations of existing solutions, including relatively poor wear resistance to chemical attack and abrasive slurries, potential emission of harmful chemicals during wear, higher costs, liner flaring during storage or reinstallation, and inventory challenges due to application-specific liner types.
PEX liners feature a crosslinked molecular structure for high abrasion resistance, making them suitable for wastewater, slurries, and applications with entrained solids. They are typically less expensive than alternative liners and simplify material selection and stocking.
The PEX liner option is exclusive to Rosemount magnetic flow meters. It is currently available for line sizes up to 8 inches, with liners for larger sizes under development.
The introduction allows users to address PFAS-related regulatory, environmental, and compliance concerns while maintaining measurement performance without changing technology or suppliers
