Anritsu has introduced the EcoSyn Lite MG36021A Microwave Synthesizer Module, expanding its signal generator product line. The module covers a frequency range of 10 MHz to 20 GHz and delivers an output power of +18 dBm. It measures 4 inches by 4 inches by 0.8 inches, making it suitable for space-constrained applications requiring a continuous wave (CW) signal source.
The EcoSyn Lite offers phase noise performance of -126 dBc/Hz (typical) at 10 GHz and 10 kHz offset, comparable to some benchtop signal generators. Its non-harmonic spurious performance of -60 dBc supports low-jitter applications, such as a clock source for Gbit ADC/DAC testing and high-speed optical systems. The module is designed for use as a local oscillator (LO) in RF/microwave transceivers for up/down conversion, accommodating complex, high-order modulation signals.
The synthesizer features a frequency switching time of less than 50 µs in Triggered List Mode, enabling faster testing in Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) applications. This speed reduces test times, increasing throughput and lowering costs in ATE rack setups. The fast switching also benefits radar cross-section (RCS) measurements for establishing radar signatures of targets like aircraft, ships, and missiles, as well as antenna testing, where large datasets across multiple frequencies are required.
The EcoSyn Lite supports USB and SPI interfaces for remote control and is powered by a +12 VDC source. It is compatible with standard SCPI and QuickSyn native commands, facilitating script development for automation.
Anritsu provides communications test and measurement solutions, including wireless, optical, microwave/RF, and digital solutions for R&D, manufacturing, installation, and maintenance, as well as network monitoring and optimization. The company also offers precision microwave/RF components, optical devices, and high-speed electrical devices for communication systems across commercial, private, military/aerospace, government, and other markets.
