Junkosha has announced a new 1 mm pitch configuration of its Junkosha Super Low Outgassing Cable portfolio for semiconductor equipment manufacturers. The cable achieved a flex life of 30 million cycles at a 70 mm bending radius in testing.
Semiconductor manufacturing equipment can present demanding conditions for cable integration, particularly in ultra-high vacuum chambers. Available space can be limited, while cable routing, movement and mechanical interfaces may already be established as part of the equipment design. In chambers with moving parts, a cable only marginally wider than the standard design can require different routing, a second cable layer or changes to mechanical components and existing assembly tooling.

The new configuration is engineered for complex high-vacuum environments while minimizing the need to redesign surrounding equipment. Junkosha tested the cable in collaboration with customer engineering teams, with durability data supporting its use in repeated-motion applications. The company says it works directly with semiconductor equipment manufacturers to develop, test and refine cable solutions for specific application requirements.
Junkosha supports prototype quantities from 20 m, followed by typical minimum production order quantities of approximately 50 - 100 m. The company says this supports new product launches, ongoing production maintenance, equipment development and evaluation of an alternative cable source without requiring a high-volume commitment at the outset.
Jason Davis, New Business Development for Junkosha, said the 1 mm cable construction was driven by customer need. He said the company combines narrower cable construction with application-specific engineering support, lower-volume production capability and collaborative testing to help customers evaluate an alternative cable source while minimizing disruption to established equipment designs.
Junkosha will exhibit the cable solution at SEMICON West from October 13-15, 2026, at Hall A/464.
