Delta showcases dual-arm robot platform and AI-enhanced digital twins at Automation Taipei 2026

Delta Electronics is participating in Automation Taipei 2026 under the theme "Forward, Toward Better: AI-Empowered Digitization," marking the company's 55th anniversary. The showcase highlights Delta's robotics and AI-driven smart manufacturing solutions, including the debut of its Embodied AI Dual-Arm Robot Platform, which combines AI models and robotic control on a single platform aimed at speeding up adoption of AI-powered robotics. On the smart manufacturing side, Delta is using AI to improve production line digital twins, meaning virtual models that simulate real manufacturing processes, and applying NVIDIA's Defect Image Generation tool to cut the time needed to develop defect-detection models for new products from three months down to two weeks.

Lisa Kao, general manager of Delta's Industrial Automation Business Group, said that as manufacturing becomes more globalized and localized simultaneously, combined with ongoing labor shortages, factories will need to move beyond basic automation toward genuine autonomy, where AI, smart robotics, and digital twins play central roles. She said Delta is integrating these technologies into AI-ready platforms focused on four key sectors: machinery, robotics, electronics, and semiconductors, aiming to help both end customers and machine manufacturers deploy smart production lines more quickly.

In the Robotics Solutions area, the Embodied AI Dual-Arm Robot Platform makes its debut, demonstrated by drawing portraits in different styles based on voice commands, showcasing the system's ability to learn and execute tasks autonomously, which improves how quickly a line can switch between different tasks. Delta says that with further refinement, the technology could scale into more intricate, high-precision applications such as AI server assembly lines. The underlying AI Robotic Control Platform connects various AI model inputs with equipment control across Delta's modular robots, built on an AI-ready architecture that incorporates NVIDIA's Jetson AGX Orin module, delivering up to 275 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of AI processing power. Using NVIDIA's Isaac ROS Nvblox and cuMotion software, the platform builds real-time 3D models of its surroundings and dynamically avoids obstacles, letting robots handle inference, learning, and task execution autonomously. The Robotics Solutions area also features Delta's latest collaborative robot pick-and-place systems and a humanoid dual-arm demonstration, aimed at improving line efficiency and deployment flexibility across different manufacturing needs.

In the Smart Manufacturing Solutions area, Delta is using AI to strengthen production line digital twins, improving simulation accuracy and efficiency across product assembly, production line design, equipment verification, and defect detection, which helps reduce the cost of fine-tuning a line during deployment and speeds up replicating successful setups across different regions. Notably, Delta combines NVIDIA's Defect Image Generation tool, powered by NVIDIA's Cosmos open-world foundation model, with the NVIDIA TAO fine-tuning toolkit and NVIDIA Isaac Sim, an open robotics simulation framework, to automatically generate a wide variety of defect patterns and surface texture data. This significantly speeds up training for AI-based defect inspection models and has improved automated optical inspection (AOI) rates by 17%.

In its Industry Solutions area, Delta is presenting technology for high-end electronics assembly, such as AI servers and automotive electronics. Its AI-Enabled Human-Machine Hybrid Line uses AI vision analytics to prevent assembly errors and collect data from manual work stations. The system also uses AI to optimize press-fit equipment yields and includes an Inline Management Solution called Line Manager, which monitors key performance indicators and identifies bottlenecks along the production line.

For warehousing and logistics, Delta's Advanced IIoT Controller AX-5 introduces new functional safety modules implementing Safety over EtherCAT (FSoE), supporting a distributed safety control structure suited to large facilities like warehouses, food packaging plants, and woodworking operations. Delta is also showing an AI-powered smart wireless solution that uses location-aware intelligence to proactively manage Wi-Fi roaming between access points, helping maintain stable connectivity for automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and overhead hoist transfer (OHT) systems while they're in motion. For charging industrial vehicles in logistics and manufacturing settings, Delta is showcasing its MOOV Series charging systems, which include both wireless (MOOVair) and contact-based (MOOVbase) charging options, delivering up to 95% energy efficiency across power outputs from 1 kW to 30 kW, and having already charged more than one million industrial vehicles worldwide.

On industrial power supplies, Delta is presenting its newly launched DIN Pro and DIN Eco Series DIN rail power supplies, featuring ultra-slim designs as narrow as 30mm to save space in control cabinets. Both series support operation down to -40°C and comply with SEMI F47, a semiconductor equipment standard, making them suitable for high-end equipment operating in extreme temperatures or polluted environments. Delta is also displaying its panel mount power supplies, including the PMS, PMR, and IMA Series, along with the enclosed IMA-Chameleon Series, which provides uninterrupted power for critical production equipment. The IMA-Chameleon Series in particular offers up to 95% energy conversion efficiency and IP65-rated resistance to dust and water, making it suitable for demanding outdoor and humid industrial environments such as process manufacturing and logistics.

Delta is exhibiting its full range of smart manufacturing solutions at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, 4F (Booth M420), from August 19 to 22, with automation products also on display in Meeting Room 429.
