Torex has developed the XC8115/XC8116 Series of multi-function load switch ICs that achieve 0µA current consumption during both active operation and standby mode. The devices support operation up to 105°C and are designed for applications including industrial equipment and consumer electronics. The ICs require no input or output capacitors, enabling standalone operation and reduced PCB space. They replace multiple discrete components typically used for power line ON/OFF control while maintaining 0µA current consumption.

The series includes application-specific features. The XC8115 provides externally adjustable soft-start time and CL discharge function for rapid output capacitor discharge, supporting power sequence control for FPGAs and MCUs. The XC8116 incorporates reverse current blocking during the OFF state, suitable for backup power circuits to prevent reverse current flow to a backup supply. It is available in both EN (active-high) and ENB (active-low) versions, allowing two power supply lines to be controlled with a single signal for power multiplexer designs.

Both models allow external adjustment of soft-start time using a capacitor to suppress inrush current and prevent voltage drops, particularly with high-impedance sources such as coin-cell batteries. Built-in protections include short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown.

The devices are offered in DFN1515-6A (1.5 × 1.5 × 0.38 mm) and SOT-25 packages. They target battery-powered equipment, energy harvesting systems, and designs requiring minimal power loss and compact layouts.
