Intel Launches Rackscale AI Infrastructure and Xeon 6+ Processors at Computex 2026

Intel announced new chip-to-systems-level AI solutions at Computex 2026, addressing inference, agentic workloads, and industry-specific requirements.

The announcements include:

Rackscale AI Infrastructure: Developed with SambaNova and Foxconn for inference and agentic workloads using Intel Xeon processors and SambaNova SN-50 Reconfigurable Dataflow Units (RDUs). Foxconn will provide system integration and manufacture a CPU-dense variant for cost-optimized inference, data processing, and hybrid AI.

Agentic Cloud Offering: Vector Core Compute, formed by Vista Equity Partners and Cambium Capital, introduced fully disaggregated inference running on Intel Xeon 6 processors for orchestration and execution, SambaNova SN40 RDUs for decode, and NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs for prefill. Together.ai is the first commercial customer. Vista Equity Partners secured early access for its portfolio companies.

Industry Partnerships: Collaborations with Foxconn (systems integration, design services, custom silicon), Siemens (expanded collaboration across design, manufacturing, chips, fab digitalization, automation, and electrification), Hitachi (foundry tools and quantum computing), Echo Neurotechnologies (neuromorphic technologies for neuro-AI, brain-computer interfaces), and Greenstone Biosciences (Intel processors, purpose-built silicon, and Intel Health and Life Sciences AI Suite for drug development using stem cells, organoids, genomics, and AI).

Intel Xeon 6+ Processors: Next-generation data center CPU built on Intel 18A for high-density, scale-out workloads, cloud-native applications, agentic AI, and network-intensive tasks. A single liquid-cooled rack can deliver 36,864 cores in 32U of compute space at approximately 100-kilowatt rack power.

Series 3 Processors: Core Ultra Series 3, built on Intel 18A, powers more than 325 consumer and commercial PC designs. The family includes new Intel Arc G-series processors for handheld gaming, available starting June 2026. Over 130 customers have selected Series 3 for edge AI and robotics designs.

The announcements reflect the shift toward greater CPU prominence in agentic inference, with Ben Bajarin of Creative Strategies noting the changing deployment ratio from roughly one CPU per four GPUs in training to approximately one CPU to one GPU (or less) in agentic inference.
