MaxLinear, announced in Barcelona, Spain, that Samji Electronics has selected the Sierra single-chip radio system-on-chip (SoC) to power its SNOO2-44N28 Macro Open RAN Radio Unit (O-RU). The SNOO2-44N28 is designed for macro cellular networks and utilizes the Sierra SoC to achieve high output power, energy efficiency, and a compact, lightweight form factor suitable for carrier-grade deployments.
Sierra’s advanced digital pre-distortion (DPD) technology supports high macro RF performance while reducing power consumption and thermal management needs. It meets spectral emissions requirements with margin, enabling smaller and lighter radio designs that simplify installation and lower total cost of ownership. The Sierra platform includes a full-featured, production-ready software stack that streamlined development, reduced integration risk, and accelerated Samji Electronics’ time-to-market.

Taehoon Lee, CEO of Samji Electronics, stated that the Sierra platform enabled delivery of a macro radio combining high performance, efficiency, and compact form factor, with its mature and scalable software providing a competitive advantage for responding to market needs.
Puneet Sethi, Senior Vice President of MaxLinear’s Network Infrastructure & Carrier BU, noted that Sierra’s high-performance DPD, proven software, and scalable architecture support customers in developing efficient, carrier-grade radio solutions.
MaxLinear will demonstrate the Samji Electronics SNOO2-44N28 Macro Radio powered by Sierra at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Hall 2, Stand 2L8MR. Attendees can view the unit in operation to observe its performance, efficiency, and compact implementation.
