Keysight Technologies, introduced the Infiniium XR8 Real-Time oscilloscopes wordwide including India. The next-generation platform targets high-speed digital and compliance testing for evolving interface standards including USB, DisplayPort, and DDR. The XR8 features a new hardware and software architecture with custom front-end ASIC technology, an integrated ADC, and DSP digital engine. These components maintain signal integrity, improve timing accuracy, and support repeatable measurements in high-speed serial, memory, and mixed-signal designs.
The redesigned mechanical structure reduces power consumption, enhances thermal efficiency, lowers acoustic noise, and provides a compact footprint suitable for space-limited labs and dense validation setups.
The oscilloscopes run on the Infiniium 2026 software platform, which includes faster response times, improved stability, flexible waveform windows, enhanced visualization, drag-and-drop functionality, and an integrated SCPI recorder. Optimized multithread processing and memory management support advanced measurement capabilities such as jitter decomposition, PAM analysis, and equalization.
The platform delivers intrinsic jitter as low as 13 fs rms and noise below 130 µV at 8 GHz bandwidth, supporting validation of interfaces such as USB4v2, DisplayPort 2.1, and DDR5. The combination of the new ADC, DSP engine, and software accelerates acquisition, analysis, and reporting by up to three times.
The design enables lower power use, better thermal performance, reduced noise, and flexible placement closer to the device under test.
Jun Chie, Vice President of Keysight Product Management, stated that the Infiniium XR8 addresses customer needs for validating complex high-speed designs under tight schedules by preserving signal fidelity, speeding compliance workflows, and reducing lab constraints.
