SEMI announced the election of two new members to its North America Advisory Board (NAAB): Gerardo Familiar, President of Advanced Performance Materials at The Chemours Company (Chemours), and Sam Ponzo, Interim President of Semiconductor Technologies at Qnity Electronics, (Qnity).
The board appointments became effective on January 14, 2026. Members serve a three-year term. The NAAB serves as the principal advocate for SEMI member companies in North America. It provides guidance on SEMI Americas programs to advance business interests and address key challenges in the electronics manufacturing and design supply chain.

Gerardo Familiar has more than 25 years of global experience in commercial excellence, marketing, strategy, product management, operations, finance, regulatory affairs, and fluorinated chemistries. In his current role as President, Advanced Performance Materials at Chemours, he has previously held positions including General Manager of Chemours Hydrogen Venture, Senior Director of Global Strategy, Marketing and Regulatory Affairs for the Thermal Specialized Solutions (TSS) business, Investor Relations Director, President of Chemours Mexico, and various sales and marketing roles. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico, an M.B.A. from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de Mexico (ITAM), and completed the Executive Development Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
