DigiKey, a global distributor of electronic components and automation products, has confirmed its Platinum-level sponsorship of Formula Bharat for the third year in a row. The competition is scheduled to take place from January 21 to 26, 2026, at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, India.
Formula Bharat is an engineering design competition modeled after the global Formula Student series, which operates in 11 countries each year. Student teams from colleges and universities across India design, build, and compete using full-scale Formula-style racing vehicles. Participants handle aspects including vehicle design, cost analysis, marketability assessment, and dynamic performance testing under real-world technical constraints.
The sponsorship provides student teams with access to global engineering tools and advanced technology resources from DigiKey.
Y.C. Wang, director of global academic programs at DigiKey, stated that the competition matches the company's goal of supplying engineers, students, and makers with necessary tools and resources. DigiKey representatives will attend the event on January 24-25, 2026, to interact with participants and provide details on the company's online tools, resources, and product offerings available to students and makers in India.
At the DigiKey booth, attendees can enter a best-idea submission contest, with prizes consisting of STMicroelectronics STM32 development tools.
