India’s PC Market to Hit 15.1 Million Units in 2025, Driven by AI and Education Demand

India’s PC market, excluding tablets, grew 6% year-on-year in Q2 2025, reaching 3.6 million units, according to Canalys (part of Omdia). Notebook shipments increased 8% to 2.7 million units, fueled by enterprise demand and AI-ready devices, while desktop shipments rose 1% to 861,000 units. The tablet market, however, declined 27% to 1.2 million units due to reduced government procurement.

For 2025, the PC market is projected to grow 7% to 15.1 million units, while tablet shipments are expected to fall 13% to 5.2 million units. In 2026, PC growth is anticipated to remain steady, driven by refresh demand and increasing AI adoption, with the tablet market expected to rebound by 15% due to government-funded education tenders.

Enterprise demand drove notebook growth in Q2 2025, with AI-capable notebook shipments nearly tripling year-on-year as organizations prioritized productivity and automation. Device refresh, particularly for Windows 11 transitions, boosted enterprise PC shipments by over 11%. Workstation demand surged 41%, reflecting needs in engineering, design, and content creation.
