MACOM Technology announced new RF and optical products for the satellite communications (SATCOM) industry. These include a high bandwidth Th-Mod optical transmitter, VPX RF over Fiber (RFoF) modules, and high power amplifiers for Ka-, Ku-, X-, and C-Band applications. The products is showcased at the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) from June 17 to 19, 2025, in San Francisco, CA, at MACOM’s Booth 943.
For C-Band, MACOM’s power amplifiers (PAs), MAPC-A4019 (60 W) and MAPC-A4017 (130 W), operate from 5.85 – 6.75 GHz using a GaN-on-SiC process and are available in flange packages. X-Band PAs, MAPC-A4020 (60 W) and MAPC-A4021 (130 W), operate from 7.7 – 8.5 GHz and are also offered in flange packages. The Ku-Band CMPA1E1F060 MMIC, using GaN-on-SiC on a copper molybdenum tab, provides 60 W continuous wave saturated output power, 25 W linear output power at -25 dBc IM3, and 35% power added efficiency (PAE), available as bare die, die on tab, or flange packages. The Ka-Band CMPA2H3B025D MMIC PA operates from 27 – 31 GHz, delivering 25 W saturated output power, 21 dB large signal gain, 25% PAE, and 10 W output power at -25 dBc IM3 with 26 dB gain and 20% PAE, offered in die, tab, or flange packages.
The Th-Mod MATT-60M1 optical transmitter and receiver modules support up to 70 GHz bandwidth for RFoF applications, such as antenna remoting, with a customizable compact form factor. The VPX RFoF MAVT-50C1 modules, designed for 3U conductively cooled VPX and SOSA applications, provide up to 50 GHz bandwidth over single mode fiber for antenna remoting and distribution, available as custom transmitters, receivers, or transceivers.
