Littelfuse launches IXD0579M gate driver for high-speed switching applications
Littelfuse, Inc., an industrial technology manufacturing company, has introduced the IXD0579M high-speed gate driver IC for driving N-channel MOSFETs or IGBTs in half-bridge configurations. The IC, designed for high-frequency switching, operates within a 6.5 V to 18 V supply range and integrates a bootstrap diode and series current limit resistor in a 3×3 mm² TDFN-10 package, reducing component count and simplifying PCB layout.
The IXD0579M features a 1.5 A source and 2.5 A sink output drive current, under-voltage lockout (UVLO) protection, and compatibility with TTL and CMOS logic levels down to 3.3 V. It includes cross-conduction protection to prevent simultaneous high-side and low-side conduction and has a standby current of less than 1 µA. The IC operates in temperatures from −40°C to +125°C.
June Zhang, Product Manager at Littelfuse’s Integrated Circuits Division, stated that the IXD0579M serves as a drop-in replacement for industry-standard gate driver ICs, offering an integrated solution for customers. It is the eleventh high-side/low-side driver in Littelfuse’s portfolio and the first to include both an integrated bootstrap diode and current limit resistor.
The gate driver targets applications such as brushless DC (BLDC) moto...
