Achronix launches VectorPath 815 FPGA accelerator card for AI and HPC applications

Achronix Semiconductor releases the VectorPath 815 (VP815) PCIe accelerator card, powered by the Speedster 7t1500 FPGA, designed for AI inferencing and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads.
The VP815 leverages the Speedster 7t1500 FPGA, which includes 2,560 machine learning processors (MLPs) supporting multiple number formats, capable of up to 82,000 INT4 MACs. It features a 2D network-on-chip (NoC) for high-speed data movement, 32 112 Gb SerDes supporting PCIe Gen5 ×16 and dual 400 Gb Ethernet channels, 692k LUTs of programmable logic, 32 GB of GDDR6 memory with 16 channels for 4 Tbps bandwidth, and 16 GB of DDR4 memory operating at 3200 MHz for over 200 Gbps bandwidth. The card uses dual QSFP-DD 112G interfaces and a PCIe Gen5 ×16 interface.
The VP815 supports generative AI and large language models (LLMs), processing LLAMA 3.1-8B Instruct at over 2,000 tokens per second with 10 ms inter-token latency. For automated speech recognition (ASR), it transcribes 2,400 simultaneous audio streams with multiple language support, latency under 25 ms, and a word error rate (WER) of less than 3%. The card’s FPGA architecture allows customization for evolving AI models, supporting low-precision (1-bit, 2-bit, and 4-bit) inferencing. It uses GDDR6 memory, offering a lower-cost, more available alternative to HBM2e-based FPGA cards.
