BrainChip and MicroIP Announce Strategic Partnership for Edge AI Hardware and Software Solutions

 BrainChip  and MicroIP announced a strategic ecosystem partnership agreement. BrainChip is a provider of ultra-low-power neuromorphic AI semiconductor intellectual property, while MicroIP specializes in hardware and software products, machine learning applications, models, and ASIC designs.

The partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of intelligent and efficient AI systems for the Taiwan and global electronics markets. It combines BrainChip’s neuromorphic neural processing unit (NPU) technology, including sub one-watt chips and ML toolchains, with MicroIP’s system-level architecture, hardware module and ASIC design, and software integration capabilities.

The collaboration targets the following edge AI application areas:  
- Acoustic/voice processing and event detection  
- Vision processing  
- Radar/LiDAR processing  
- Remote sensing  
- Cybersecurity  
- Anomaly detection/classification  
- Noise suppression and signal enhancement  
- Ultra-low-power edge inference systems  

Under the agreement, BrainChip will provide AI enablement support, including AI model guidance, access to specialized model assets, and toolchain enablement through its MetaTF development flow. MicroIP will handle customer system-level architecture integration, hardware module design and validation, and delivery of fully integrated, production-ready edge AI modules to customers.

“We are excited to welcome MicroIP into our growing AI eco-system,” said Steven Brightfield, chief marketing officer of BrainChip. “By combining BrainChip’s ultra-low-power, Akida-enabled architectures with MicroIP’s robust hardware design and software stack integration, we are giving customers in Taiwan and globally a streamlined, validated path from proof-of-concept to field deployment for demanding edge AI programs.”

The companies plan to conduct joint engineering and marketing activities, including presentations at industry events, webinars, and demonstrations.
