TDK Corporation announced establishment of its Asia-Pacific Regional Headquarters (APAC RHQ) in Bengaluru, India, marking its fifth regional headquarters after those in Japan, Europe, the Americas, and China. The APAC RHQ will be operated by a new legal entity, TDK Asia-Pacific Pvt. Ltd., to be established in India, in conjunction with TDK Singapore Pte. Ltd. This creates a dual-city administrative structure based in Bengaluru and Singapore.

The headquarters will oversee more than 20 TDK entities across India, Southeast Asia, and Oceania. These entities represent nearly 17 percent of TDK’s total workforce of 105,000 employees. The establishment takes effect on April 1, 2026, and forms part of the company’s “TDK Transformation” long-term vision.

TDK has operated in India for several decades through its Electronics Components Business Company (ECBC) and Energy Solutions Business Company (ESBC), along with their subsidiaries. The company maintains production facilities in West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Haryana, and currently employs over 5,000 people in India.

Vaidyanathan Ramasarma, General Manager of APAC RHQ at TDK Corporation, stated: “With the establishment of the Asia-Pacific RHQ, we are not simply expanding our footprint, we are strengthening the foundation for the future. This region holds immense potential in technology, talent, and market development. Our mission is to unlock that potential responsibly, collaboratively, and strategically.”

The dual-city structure positions Bengaluru to focus on growth, leveraging its engineering talent ecosystem and frugal engineering traditions for emerging technology domains. Singapore will handle governance, compliance, and supply chain functions.

The APAC RHQ will enhance market intelligence, government relations, supply chain resilience, internal efficiencies, workforce skilling, and process governance across the region. It will also contribute to TDK’s global R&D network, utilizing India’s scientific talent and research capabilities.

Over the past two years, TDK has built relationships with academia, government, and industry in India to support this initiative.

Through the APAC RHQ, TDK aims to strengthen its contributions to social transformation in India and the Asia-Pacific while advancing its own transformation.
